1. RENT: a $200 deposit must accompany all signed contracts. On your contracted move-in date, you will need to pay your first month’s rent with Cashiering Services. If you are moving in on a date other than the first day of the month, your payment will be prorated based on a 30-day cycle.

2. Bring your housing payment receipt to the Crest Resident Services Office (Area 2 on map below).

3. KEYS: After verification that you have properly initiated utility services for your unit, you will be issued appropriate keys to allow entry into your unit.

4. PARKING AUTHORIZATION: If you have a vehicle, you will need to supply your current vehicle registration. You will be given a Crest Parking Permit and your Housing Account will be charged the appropriate fee. This permit is valid only in Canyon Crest Family Student Housing.

5. MOVE-IN INSPECTION: You will be asked to complete a Move-In walkthrough within five (5) business days of your move-in. Residents are required to attend the Move-In walkthrough. During the Move-In walkthrough, a UCR Housing staff member will orient you with your unit and the property in general. Notations of any maintenance or custodial discrepancies in your unit will also be documented during this walkthrough. If the UCR Housing staff member deems it appropriate, plans will be discussed with you to enter your unit at a later date to correct the discrepancies. All other discrepancies will be noted on your Move-In Inspection Form in order to ensure that you are not charged for pre-existing discrepancies upon move-out. Please make every effort to be thorough during this review of your unit. Your signature on the Move-In Inspection Form will indicate your agreement as to the conditions documented on the form. Failure to complete a Move-In Inspection within five (5) business days of your move-in will imply your consent that your unit is acceptable “as is.” Consequently, you may be charged for any maintenance or custodial discrepancies noted upon move-out that were not previously documented by a qualified staff person.
